What it does well

The premise's real strength is refusing to sand down Juhyeok's cowardice into a cute quirk that vanishes once the action starts. He stays anxious, he stays hesitant, and the series treats that as a genuine survival tool rather than a flaw to outgrow, his caution keeps him alive in situations where a braver, more reckless climber might get themselves killed. That gives the tower fights a different texture than the usual confident-protagonist power fantasy, tension comes from watching someone talk himself into acting despite being terrified, not from watching someone effortlessly dominate. The tower itself delivers on danger too, floors escalate with real stakes and blood, and Plan A's art sells both Juhyeok's constant nervous energy and the scale of the threats he's up against. At under 20 episodes in, it's also an easy, fast on-ramp if you want to catch up before the backlog gets long.

Where it falls short

The "wimp" hook is also a limiter. Readers who want a hero who gets more confident and commanding as the story progresses may find Juhyeok's persistent anxiety frustrating rather than endearing, especially if later chapters keep leaning on it past the point of freshness. The Mature rating isn't decorative either, the violence gets genuinely graphic, so this isn't the tower-climbing series to hand to someone who just wants a lighter power fantasy.
