Lithera has read this story before, literally. Dropped by the gods into the world of her favorite fantasy romance novel, she recognizes exactly where she's landed: paired with the sweet, dutiful Grand Duke she spent years exchanging letters with in her old life, walking straight into every beat a genre fan would expect from a story called Another Typical Fantasy Romance. Written and illustrated by WOLHET (with additional art from Anggom and Shin Chaewon), the series is ongoing, with its fourth season recently moving to Tapas.

What it does well

The title is doing double duty, it's both a joke and a promise, and the manhwa mostly delivers on both. Lithera's awareness that she's living inside a familiar genre template gives her a sharper perspective than the standard reincarnated heroine, she knows which tropes are coming and gets to actually navigate them instead of just falling into them blindly. That self-awareness could easily curdle into pure parody, but the story keeps its central romance sincere: the correspondence-turned-courtship with the Grand Duke gets real emotional groundwork rather than coasting on the premise's built-in cuteness.

The balance between knowing wink and genuine feeling is the book's real achievement. It pokes at the genre's most familiar shapes, the noble suitor, the second-chance heroine, the inevitable happily-ever-after, without ever treating the reader's investment in that romance as a punchline. The art supports that tonal balancing act well, equally comfortable with lighter comedic beats and the more sincere scenes the central relationship needs to land.

Where it falls short

The constant genre-awareness is a feature for readers who enjoy that kind of meta commentary, but it won't work for everyone; if you want your isekai romance played completely straight, the persistent winking at its own tropes may grate rather than charm. Some of the supporting cast exists mostly to reinforce the story's "typical" framing rather than to stand on their own as characters. And with a new season only recently landing on Tapas, several of the larger plot threads are still very much in motion.

Verdict

It's a genre-savvy fantasy romance that earns the joke in its own title by actually delivering a satisfying version of the story it's gently poking fun at. Worth reading if you want your isekai romance self-aware without losing its sincerity. Skip it if you'd rather your fantasy romance play things completely straight.
