Reincarnated Murim Lord (Hwansaengcheonma), based on Jang Yeong-Hun's web novel and adapted by JP with art from Bugyeom, follows Cheon Hajin, the aging, respected leader of the Grand Martial Alliance, who realizes near the end of his life that he barely remembers the details of his own legacy. When a mysterious illness kills him, he wakes up in the body of Byeok Ridan -- a notorious wastrel heir to the Byeok Clan of swordsmen, and about as far from Hajin's own reputation as it's possible to get.

The series stands out from the current murim reincarnation wave by changing what the lead actually gains from his second chance. Hajin doesn't wake up with a power he lacked before -- he already had power, respect, and decades of accumulated judgment. What he's short on now is a body and a name that anyone takes seriously, which flips the usual underdog structure into something closer to a competent, experienced man managing everyone's low expectations of him.

That gap between reputation and reality is where a lot of the story's texture comes from. People who knew Ridan as a wastrel keep reacting to Hajin's actual competence and discipline with confusion or disbelief, and the series gets real mileage out of that friction instead of just having him steamroll every obstacle.

The fact that Hajin has already lived a complete life also gives the story a more reflective register than the genre's usual young, eager protagonist.
