The cast of animal companions carries a lot of the charm too, each with enough personality to read as an actual character rather than set dressing, and the full-color art leans into that cuteness without losing the sense that Sejun is still, technically, in a monster-filled dungeon. Where it falls short

If you're after a power-fantasy dungeon series with escalating fights and combat stakes, this isn't that, and the low-key farming focus can feel slow if you came in expecting more traditional action. The found-family cast is a strength, but with so many companions accumulating over 100-plus episodes, some get less individual attention than others. And as a long-running, still-ongoing series with two seasons behind it, it's more of a comfort-read commitment than something you finish in a weekend.
