Spoiler-light · Honestly rated
Every review labels its spoiler level, separates art from writing, and ends with an official way to read.
We use the whole 1–10 scale and judge each title against the best version of what it is trying to be — a comedy on how funny it is, a thriller on its tension — not against some other genre. As a rough guide: 9+ is all-time great, 8 excellent, 7 a solid recommendation with caveats, 5–6 mixed or average. A 7 is a genuine yes, not a knock. The “Community score” in each review is the crowd rating from AniList, MAL, and MangaUpdates, shown next to ours for comparison.
Tomio Ogata draws V's familiars with more menace than the game's cutscenes ever had room for, and the manga earns its prequel status by filling in motivation rather than just padding out a timeline.
This earns its tragedy honestly instead of just borrowing the game's reputation for it, which is more than most game tie-ins manage. Go in knowing it's still a tie-in, with everything that implies about pacing built around an existing story rather than a comic-native one.
Some of the best-choreographed sword fights you'll find in a manhua, attached to a story that stopped mid-sentence and hasn't resumed.
Swap the usual isekai village for a starship and a crew, and the wish-fulfillment hits in a genuinely different, more adventurous register.
Playing a superhero's crippling anxiety completely straight could easily have become a gimmick - instead it's the reason the whole series works.
Watching a delicate fantasy princess settle disputes with a yakuza boss's fists never stops being funny, twenty-plus volumes in.
The hook — a hero the world insists on calling a terrorist — is sharper than most power-fantasy premises, and the manhwa mostly earns it.
Builds a genuinely clever action series around a hero whose superpower is knowing exactly when and how to run.
Angry, blunt, and more politically specific than any vigilante manga has a right to be -- just don't expect it to trust you to reach its conclusions on your own.
Small, blunt, and over almost as fast as it starts — it does exactly one thing and doesn't overstay its welcome.
Making the protagonist a weapons-smith rather than a swordsman gives this time-loop revenge story a genuinely different angle on a familiar genre.
The hook, taking the game genre's most obviously useless class and making it work, is stronger than almost anything that happens after it.
