That inversion keeps the power dynamic more interesting than a standard supernatural-girl-meets-human-boy setup, since the 'powerful' half of the couple is also the clumsy, inexperienced one.

That mismatch between Kanan's confidence as a demon and her total cluelessness about actual romance is where most of the comedy lands. She knows how to manipulate a soul, but she has no idea what to do with real, mutual affection, and watching her flounder against something she can't strategize her way through is consistently funny.
