Overview

Perfect Marriage Revenge is a revenge-romance webtoon adapted from Yibambe's web novel, with art by Jerryball. After being betrayed and killed, Han Iju wakes up a year in the past, before her wedding to the man who helped ruin her. Armed with everything she knows is coming, she breaks off that engagement and instead strikes a contract marriage with Doguk Seo — a powerful man her scheming stepsister wanted for herself — and sets about systematically dismantling the people who wronged her. It ran on Naver and WEBTOON, is complete, and was adapted into a popular Korean drama.

What it does well

The revenge is the point, and it delivers. Iju comes back sharp, composed, and several steps ahead, so the pleasure is watching a competent woman calmly take apart the people who underestimated her. The series understands its assignment: every reversal is set up and paid off for maximum satisfaction, and it rarely makes her stumble in ways that feel cheap.

The romance is a strong second engine. The contract marriage with Doguk starts transactional and warms into something real, and the chemistry builds convincingly under all the scheming — he's drawn as genuinely taken with her, which keeps the partnership from feeling cold. The supporting cast of allies and enemies is clearly drawn, so it's always easy to track who deserves what's coming. Jerryball's art is polished and expressive, equally good at a smug power move and a vulnerable beat, and the whole thing is tightly paced and very easy to binge.

It's also complete. The story knows where it's going and gets there with a full, satisfying ending, and if you want more there's a well-received drama adaptation to roll into.

Where it falls short

The honest catch is familiarity. This is a regression-revenge romance, and it follows that template closely — if you've read Marry My Husband or others in the wave, you'll recognize the broad shape of every beat. The pleasure here is in execution, not surprise.

It's also wish-fulfillment first. The villains are simple and thoroughly hateable, which is satisfying but leaves almost no moral grey, and the plot rarely tries to complicate its clean revenge math. Come for catharsis and competence, not for nuance.

Verdict

Perfect Marriage Revenge is a polished, deeply satisfying entry in the regression-revenge genre — sharp heroine, strong contract-marriage romance, clean art, and payback that lands exactly when you want it. It doesn't reinvent the formula, but it executes it about as well as the genre gets. If turning the tables on awful people is the itch you're scratching, this scratches it.
