Overview

Fu Enxue's grandfather is murdered by a member of the Demonic Martial Alliance, and Enxue's response isn't grief alone, it's a plan: infiltrate the very organization that killed him, using nothing but his intelligence and a growing thirst for vengeance. Once inside, his overwhelming bloodlust doesn't mark him as a threat to root out, it marks him as a prodigy, and the demonic masters start grooming him as one of their own. The catch is obvious from the start: the same dark power that's letting him get close to his target might be exactly what consumes him before he ever gets his revenge.

What it does well

The infiltration hook gives this a sharper edge than a straightforward revenge-and-punch story, Enxue isn't just training to get strong enough to fight his enemy, he's actively living among them, earning their trust, and risking exactly what that trust might cost him. That tension, between the vengeance he wants and the power that's quietly reshaping him, is the story's real engine, and it's a genuinely compelling variation on the murim revenge formula. The demonic-arts setting gives the art plenty to work with, and the full-color presentation handles both the combat and the sect politics cleanly. Reader reception has been solid for a newer series, and it's already built a real, if modest, following since debuting.

Where it falls short

As of this review, the series is on a fresh hiatus, Season 1 just wrapped and Season 2 hasn't started yet, so newcomers will hit a wall after the current chapters rather than a slow trickle. At under 50 chapters so far, it's also early enough that the "will the power corrupt him" question hasn't fully paid off yet, this is a promising setup more than a proven long-term story at this point. And the murim and demonic-cultivation setting leans on genre conventions that reward some familiarity with the wuxia revenge-story mold.

Verdict

If a murim revenge story built around infiltration and the risk of becoming what you're hunting sounds appealing, this is a sharp, well-set-up entry, even if it's still early and between seasons right now. Worth following, with the expectation that you'll be waiting for Season 2 like everyone else.
