The art matches that tone throughout, rendering the zomgans as genuinely unsettling and the fight choreography as suitably brutal without losing clarity in the chaos.

The world-building twist of making the antagonists half-human hybrids rather than mindless zombies gives the setting more to chew on than a standard outbreak premise, and several of the male members of the Eradication Front get enough personality to feel like actual people riding alongside Mirae rather than disposable extras. It's not subtle storytelling, but it commits fully to its own premise, and that commitment is a big part of why it built a loyal, if modestly sized, following.

Where it falls short

The opening stretch is the roughest patch -- plot beats and character relationships in the first fifteen or so chapters land as convenient rather than earned, with alliances forming faster than the writing justifies. That's a real speed bump for a series that wants you to buy into its world early.

The more persistent issue is the supporting cast, and specifically how the female characters are handled. Readers consistently point to them as thinner and more reactive than their male counterparts, defined by single traits or impulsive decisions rather than real interiority -- a genuine weak point in an otherwise reasonably drawn ensemble. And because the mystery behind Mirae's immortality gets explained fairly early in the run, the story loses one of its stronger hooks well before the later chapters play out, leaning more on escalating fights than escalating intrigue from that point forward.

ZOMGAN earns its reputation as a hidden gem in the crowded zombie-manhwa space -- the immortal-lead hook, the committed art, and the willingness to sit with what invulnerability actually costs a person make it worth seeking out. It's rougher in its first act and uneven in how it treats its female cast, and the central mystery doesn't stretch as far as the story's full length. But as a complete, self-contained action series with real teeth, it delivers more than its relatively modest profile suggests.
