As the sand runs out at her execution, Aria is thrown back in time to her youth, and she uses everything she knows about the future to outmaneuver Mielle, climb the social ladder, and turn the tables. It's a story of scheming, revenge, and slow-burned payoff, and it's complete, so the whole plan plays out.

What it does well

The revenge plot is the engine, and it's a satisfying one. Watching Aria use foreknowledge to dismantle the people who wronged her is exactly the cat-and-mouse pleasure the genre promises, and the series is good at setting up a trap several chapters before it springs. The push and pull between Aria and Mielle gives it a real spine, and the foreknowledge angle keeps you guessing about which future beats she'll change and which she'll let happen.

Aria herself is a strong lead. She's active and morally gray, scheming and ruthless rather than a passive victim waiting to be saved, and that makes her far more compelling than the genre's blander heroines. You're never quite sure how far she'll go, which keeps the tension alive.

The art is the other big draw. Antstudio's full-color work is lavish, with gorgeous period fashion, expressive faces, and the kind of polish that makes the social-drama scenes pop. It looks the part of the high-society world it's set in.

Where it falls short

The biggest issue is length and pacing. The revenge plot is long, and it sags through the middle, where the scheming starts to feel like variations on the same moves. If you're not deeply invested in the social maneuvering, those stretches can test your patience.

The romance is also secondary and underdeveloped, which may disappoint readers who come to the genre for the love story. And while Aria is well-drawn, some of the villains and side characters are one-dimensional, and the series leans into melodrama. If you've read a lot of villainess regression stories, the broad beats will feel familiar despite the strong execution.
