Spoiler-light · Honestly rated
Every review labels its spoiler level, separates art from writing, and ends with an official way to read.
We use the whole 1–10 scale and judge each title against the best version of what it is trying to be — a comedy on how funny it is, a thriller on its tension — not against some other genre. As a rough guide: 9+ is all-time great, 8 excellent, 7 a solid recommendation with caveats, 5–6 mixed or average. A 7 is a genuine yes, not a knock. The “Community score” in each review is the crowd rating from AniList, MAL, and MangaUpdates, shown next to ours for comparison.
Worth it for a genuinely moving, Manga Taisho-winning take on an unlikely friendship. It's a quiet character study, not a plot-driven story, so go in with that expectation.
Worth seeking out as a genuine hidden gem, best approached knowing there's no official English release yet.
Worth it for a well-built ensemble and real martial arts stakes under the comedy, best approached knowing it's a long, large-cast commitment.
Worth it for a fast, funny take on the regression formula. It leans on chaos and audacity, not careful strategy, so go in with that expectation.
Worth it for a fully committed, consistently funny premise, best approached knowing it plays the demon lord fantasy for laughs, not menace.
Worth it for a genuinely funny gimmick and satisfying petty revenge, best approached knowing it's a long, formula-driven ride.
Worth it for Fukumoto's sharp, melancholic take on a very familiar premise, an underrated pick in his catalog.
Watching a villain fail spectacularly at staying evil, over and over, makes for one of the funnier reincarnation-murim webtoons out there.
The Russian-crush gimmick could've been a one-note joke; instead it anchors a genuinely charming, funny slow-burn. Standard romcom bones, better-than-average execution.
Give it a few volumes and the scattered gags turn out to be a carefully built puzzle, one of the sharpest slice-of-life comedies going, if you don't mind a book that's all hangout and no plot.
Goofy for volumes on end, then it quietly sneaks the feelings in — SKET Dance is a gag comedy that earned the right to get serious.
One of the best gag manga ever made, and almost nobody in the West has read it — the dirty-fighting lead alone is worth the price of admission.
