Spoiler-light · Honestly rated
Every review labels its spoiler level, separates art from writing, and ends with an official way to read.
We use the whole 1–10 scale and judge each title against the best version of what it is trying to be — a comedy on how funny it is, a thriller on its tension — not against some other genre. As a rough guide: 9+ is all-time great, 8 excellent, 7 a solid recommendation with caveats, 5–6 mixed or average. A 7 is a genuine yes, not a knock. The “Community score” in each review is the crowd rating from AniList, MAL, and MangaUpdates, shown next to ours for comparison.
It's a huge, ridiculous, deeply moving saga about killer puppets and the people who won't stop fighting them — held back mainly by the fact that there's still no official English release.
It takes a while to get going and the early art is rough, but stick with it and it turns into one of the most heartfelt battle series of its era — and it actually sticks the ending.
It's the rare gag comedy where nearly every character is funny, all built on one perfect setup: a girl confesses her love and gets recruited as a manga assistant instead.
Pure absurd gag comedy with no plot and no brakes — when it's funny it's some of the funniest stuff on the shelf, and it whiffs about as often as it connects.
If you've ever wanted a fantasy where the tension comes from a currency swindle instead of a sword fight, there's nothing else quite like it.
The manga races through a story the novel told slowly, but it still lands the emotional gut-punch it's built around.
Barely any dialogue and wall-to-wall gorgeous art — Veil is a mood you sink into more than a story you race through.
The setup sounds like fluff — homeless girl becomes a minor god with a grumpy fox familiar — but it grows into one of the warmer, funnier shojo romances of its era.
Nation-building, not fights, is the real draw here — if watching a slime turn a cave of goblins into a functioning country sounds fun, this is an easy recommendation.
Horse girls sound like a joke premise; twenty pages in you're watching one of the decade's most sincere sports manga refuse to blink.
Cozy, gorgeous, and almost conflict-free — a romance you read to feel warm, not to bite your nails.
Anyone who's ever wished they could redo high school will feel this one in their bones — just don't expect the time travel to explain itself or the romance to land cleanly.
